Who can found an organization?
Different requirements apply for establishing a foundation and an association.
The founder of a foundation can be any adult citizen, not necessarily of Poland, as well as a legal entity, such as a company or a university. In order to establish a foundation, it is necessary to allocate assets for this purpose, but the regulations do not specify the amount. To establish a foundation, one person is sufficient (although there may also be multiple founders).
To establish an association, at least 7 natural persons are required. They can be Polish citizens or foreigners living in Poland. Legal entities can only be supporting members of an association.
